GAMO ACCU Whisper .177 Air Rifle Review

Once again, the most decorated feature of the Accu Whisper is just how incredibly lightweight this rifle is. This is in large part due to its stock, which is a black synthetic material with a wide forearm and a comfortable pistol grip. It features a shorter and low cheekpiece on both sides of the stock.

This, in a way, makes the gun ambidextrous but also makes the sight picture very comfortable and easy to use. The butt pad is contoured to the stock itself and is thick and made of rubber. While this rifle hardly has a recoil, this makes it even more comfortable to shoot. It is a great stock design and can accommodate shooters of different sizes from large to small.

Even the trigger on this air rifle has been specially designed to give you the best possible accuracy and comfort. Gamo tries to improve on their triggers year and after year, and the one in this gun is no exception. While still not perfect, the trigger is good and you will have a manual safety and can shoot as soon as the rifle is loaded. While the length of the first-stage pull is adjustable, you cannot adjust the pull weight or the overtravel.

The sights on the Accu Whisper are excellent, and the front is a simple post and bead that has a hood over it to protect it while hunting. The rear sight is adjustable and fiberoptic as well, giving you plenty of adjustability and accuracy where it counts. Both the windage and elevation can be adjusted with very smooth clicks, and the windage even features a reference scale as an added bonus. You will also have plenty of great options when it comes to mounting scopes and optics on this air rifle.

The Accu Whisper has a separate scope rail on top of the spring tube that accomplishes this job, and the design works really well. While the open sights work excellent on this rifle, the scope rail has stop holes to get the scope exactly where you want and need it. When paired with a good scope, this rifle is extremely accurate and is more than capable of hunting small game or target shooting with some incredible accuracy.

Now, let’s take a deeper dive into the performance and power of the Accu Whisper. Like we mentioned, this air rifle is a .177 caliber air gun. With a barrel length of 19 inches, this will give you around 1,250 feet per second of velocity on average. You can comfortably expect anywhere from 1,000 to 1,150 even with subpar ammunition as well.

Again, this air rifle is powered by a cocking mechanism which gives you plenty of force to propel the pellet. This gun also employs a two-piece cocking link instead of a single piece. This design allows the barrel to move and pivot more on the pivot pin so that the cocking force is over a longer distance, meaning a lighter effort with just as much force.

The Accu Whisper comes in with a total length of 44.5 inches, with a barrel length of 19 inches. The length of pull is 14.4 inches with a trigger pull of 3.53 pounds. And as we mentioned, it has all of this in a package that is only 5.64 pounds in weight.

This gives you plenty of maneuverability and versatility in a lightweight package that you can take anywhere and everywhere. No matter what skill level you might be, the Whisper will be a comfortable and reliable shooter. Unlike other guns that you can buy, the ease of use of this gun is second to none.

You want a reliable gun that will be able to perform when you need it most. If you are using this rifle to hunt with, its lightweight and maneuverability will allow you to excel at hunting birds or small game like squirrels, rabbits, or prairie dogs. With its increased velocity, it will quickly and humanely kill the varmints and prey animals that you are after.

For target shooting (or even quick follow-up shots while hunting) the ability to quickly reload and pump the action will allow you to keep on shooting all day long without getting tired. After doing it a few times, you will be able to do it with muscle memory and very quickly.
